2011 Home and Garden Show Again a Huge Success!

2011 Home & Garden Show

While national housing news is up and down, locally here in the Texoma area optimism was flowing heavily for The Builders Association of Grayson, Fannin and Cooke County’s Annual Home and Garden Show in Sherman, Texas as the attendance exploded with people from all over Texas and Oklahoma! Yes indeed it was another big success!

Driving north or south on Highway 75 a quick glance to the east and you could sense something big was going on. If you had been listening to Doc FM 107.3 or watching KXII TV you probably already knew about this highly energized event. Nearly 100 local and national exhibitors had been eagerly planning weeks and months ahead of time for this 2-day show that took place on April 30th and May 1st, 2011. The Home and Garden committee, made up of Builders Association Board members had been meeting weekly since December2010 preparing for and organizing this main event. We were still setting up at 9am when people started lining up at the door for a 10:00 am kick off.

It was exhilarating! An estimated 4000 visitors continued to pour into the former Circuit City building throughout Saturday and Sunday. Several door prizes were given out to the lucky winners who registered to win. Those who won took home a Big Screen TV and many other products and prizes. The registrants were from 24 cities in Oklahoma and 38 different cities in Texas. What could possibly draw this many people to one building for one weekend?

It was a chance for future home buyers to come see a complete buffet of the newest innovative ideas in modern home construction. Builder members of the Association, through their massive network of informational resources, suppliers, modern Builders Association continuous education & training have more to offer to today’s new home buyer than ever before. Builders and exhibitors showcased leading edge sustainable long lasting products such as hardwood floors, granite, marble and quartz countertops and energy efficient systems. You could experience the feel of the most luxurious hot tubs, patios, most durable fencing design and importantly you meet the people that are keeping you connected to the latest trends, best material and workmanship in homebuilding.

It was also a golden opportunity for homeowners to look at all the potential remodeling that could add substantially to the excitement and value of your current home.

This is certainly a viable gauge for the economic forecast and the need for the community to have that “go to” organization “ The Builders Association “to assist them in; Referrals to reputable builders, remodelers, suppliers, banking and mortgage institutions, title companies, contractors, sub-contractors, flooring services, materials, doors and windows, patio, landscaping and lawn, real estate law and so much more.

There was also great food available outside the main building!
